About The Described & Captioned Media Program

The Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) library provides on-demand captioned and described educational video and interactive content to benefit K-12 students who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. Teachers/interpreters (including those still in training), other professionals, and family members whose use benefits these students can apply to have access to all DCMP media and training.

In order to access DCMP and all materias, you must apply for a Described and Captioned Media Program account. It is FREE and takes a few moments.

Wait For Approval

The DCMP will review and approve your account within a few days (or sooner)! Make sure to keep an eye on your inbox for approval.

Enjoy The Book

You can toggle on and off ASL captions with the toolbar in the lower right of the video as well as customize caption text. Check out everything Imagination Storybooks has to offer!

Cute and all inclusive The artwork is super cute and many different abilities are covered in the book. It has so many different challenges that are out there; it doesn't have only one or two syndromes. It's a cute read.

Essential reading. A must have!! This is one that every child, and adult, needs to read. It has such an important message and opens the conversation surrounding handling interactions with others that are different than ourselves. It is well written and such a joy to read. Fantastic resource for teaching kids about inclusivity I’m deaf, so books that normalize differences are so welcome in our home! This one has darling illustrations with clear descriptions of each child that may have a difference or a challenge - but also focuses on what they CAN do!
